The Flow of Life
Balance and Change
A key idea in Taoism is balance, like how a seesaw needs both sides to be equal to stay still. But balance isn’t about staying the same; it’s about change too! Just like you switch from playing tag to reading a book, life moves between opposites: loud and quiet, hot and cold, busy and calm.
Being Like Water
One of the wisest ideas in Taoism is that we should be like water, soft but strong, able to shape itself around anything it touches, like how water flows through your fingers when you turn on the tap. By being flexible and patient, we can handle life's ups and downs more easily.
Taoism is about learning from nature, staying calm in the chaos, and enjoying the ride, just like a kid playing with their favorite toy.
Examples
