Tactile and visual characteristics are how something feels and looks to us.
Imagine you’re playing with your favorite toy, maybe a soft teddy bear or a bumpy soccer ball. If you close your eyes and touch it, that’s the tactile part, what it feels like. Is it smooth? Rough? Bumpy? Cold? Warm? That’s all about how it touches your skin.
Now, if you open your eyes and look at it, that’s the visual part, what it looks like. Is it red? Blue? Big? Small? Shiny or dull? You’re using your eyes to see its shape, color, and size.
Tactile is about touch
Visual is about sight
Now imagine looking at a cookie. You see it's chocolate chip, with brown spots and golden edges, that's visual! It’s like when you look at a rainbow, you see all the pretty colors without even touching them.
So, tactile and visual are just two ways we learn about things, one through touch, the other through sight.
