What are sum of the internal angles?

The sum of the internal angles is just how much all the corners inside a shape add up to, like counting how many degrees you turn when walking around it.

Imagine you're playing with a triangular puzzle piece, like a slice of pizza. Each corner has an angle, think of them as little turns in your path. If you walk around the triangle, you make three turns, one at each corner. All those turns together add up to 180 degrees, just like walking all the way around a straight line.

Now try with a square or rectangle, four corners, and each turn is bigger. When you go around it, your total turning is 360 degrees. It's like doing a full circle dance!

What Shapes Have How Much?

  • A triangle has 3 angles → 180 degrees
  • A quadrilateral (like squares or rectangles) has 4 angles → 360 degrees
  • A pentagon (5 sides) has 5 angles → 540 degrees

Every time you add a side, the total angle sum increases by 180 degrees, just like adding another turn to your dance.
