What are spoked wheels?

Spoked wheels are wheels that have long, straight pieces called spokes connecting the center to the outer part.

Imagine you're playing with a toy wheel on your bike, instead of being solid all around, it has lines going from the middle out to the edge. Those lines are the spokes. They help make the wheel strong and light at the same time.

Think of a spoke like a bridge between two parts of the wheel. When you ride your bike, the spokes take turns being tight and loose as the wheel spins, just like how a seesaw moves up and down. This helps the wheel stay steady even when you go over bumps or speed up.

Spoked wheels are used on bikes, cars, and even big trucks! They’re light but still strong, which makes them perfect for things that move a lot. Without spokes, wheels would be heavy and harder to turn, kind of like trying to spin a solid disk instead of something with lots of little bridges inside it.
