A spatial entity is something that takes up space and can be moved or seen in a place.
Imagine you're playing with your building blocks. Each block, like a red one or a blue one, is a spatial entity because it has size, shape, and you can move it around on the floor. It’s not just a color or a sound, but something real that takes up space.
Like Things You Touch
Think of your toy car. When you push it across the floor, it moves, that's because it’s a spatial entity. Your stuffed bear is also one: you can hug it, put it on the bed, or even throw it in the air!
Not All Things Are Spatial Entities
But not everything takes up space. For example, your favorite song isn’t something you can pick up and move, it’s more like a feeling than a spatial entity.
So when we talk about spatial entities, we're talking about things that have size, shape, and are in places you can touch or see, just like your toys!
Examples
- A tree in the park is a simple spatial entity, it occupies space and can be seen on a map.
