What are spacefaring efforts?

Spacefaring efforts are when people try to go into space and explore what’s out there.

Imagine you have a toy car that can drive on your floor. Now imagine it could leave your house, zoom through the sky, and visit other neighborhoods, even ones far away from yours! That's kind of like spacefaring efforts, but with real people and real rockets instead of toy cars.

Sometimes, spacefaring is like building a big playhouse in another neighborhood. People use rockets as their special cars to travel through the sky. They might go to the moon or even farther, just like you might visit your friend’s house across town.

Other times, spacefaring is like going on a trip with friends. Astronauts live in space stations, which are like floating playhouses where they can hang out and work while looking at Earth from above, just like you might have a treehouse to hang out in.

Sometimes the trips go really far, like to other planets! It's like taking a super-long bus ride across town, but instead of buses, we use rockets.
