What are SOULS in the Elder Scrolls?

A SOUL is like a tiny, glowing spark that lives inside every person and creature in the world of the Elder Scrolls.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, it's full of life and energy. Now imagine if that toy could leave its energy behind when it breaks or gets lost. That energy is like a SOUL. In the Elder Scrolls, every being has one of these tiny sparks inside them, and they can do cool things like move around or even go into other creatures.

How Souls Work

When someone dies, their SOUL doesn’t disappear, it just leaves the body and floats out into the world. Sometimes, a special kind of person called a Necromancer can catch that floating spark and put it inside another creature or object, giving it new life or power.

Think of it like when you leave your toy on the floor, and then someone picks it up and gives it to another kid, that’s kind of like what happens with SOULS. They’re not magic, they're just tiny, living energy!
