What are songs?

A song is like a happy story that you can hear and even dance to.

Songs are made when people use their voices, or special tools like guitars, pianos, or drums, to create sounds that follow a pattern, kind of like how you might clap your hands in time with a beat.

What Makes a Song Special

A song has two main parts:

  • The words (or lyrics) tell the story, just like how you might say "I love ice cream" when you're happy.
  • The music (like melody and rhythm) gives it life, similar to how your footsteps make a sound as you walk, faster or slower, depending on how excited you are.

How You Can Be Part of a Song

You can sing along with a song, just like you might say "Hello!" when someone says it to you. Or you can even make up your own songs by clapping, tapping your feet, or using your voice, just like drawing pictures with sound!
