What are secrets?

A secret is like a special message that only certain people can read or use.

Imagine you and your friend have a special way to send messages without anyone else knowing what they say. You write down a note, but instead of writing the whole word, you change it using a code, maybe you turn every "a" into an "e," and every "b" into a "c." Your friend knows this code, so when they see the note, they can figure out the real message. That's like having a secret between just the two of you.

How Secrets Work

Think about your backpack, it has all your stuff in it. But if someone else wants to get your snacks, they might try to open it without asking. A secret is kind of like a lock on your backpack. Only people who know the special code (or the right key) can open it and see what's inside.

Sometimes, secrets are used to keep important things safe, like passwords for video games or codes that let you send messages only to your best friend. The more people who know the secret, the less "secret" it feels!
