What are scfas?

SCFAs are tiny helpers that your body uses to stay strong and happy.

Imagine you're eating a big plate of fiber, like carrots or beans. Your tummy has special workers called bacteria, who live in your gut. These bacteria love fiber, and when they eat it, they make little helpers called SCFAs (which stands for short-chain fatty acids).

How SCFAs work

Think of SCFAs like tiny batteries that power your body. They help your tummy feel full longer, keep your gut healthy, and even help you think better! It’s like giving your brain a little snack after lunch.

When the bacteria finish eating fiber, they send these SCFAs into your blood. Then, they travel all over your body, to your muscles, your heart, even your brain!

So every time you eat something with fiber, you're helping your gut make these tiny helpers that keep you feeling good from inside out.
