What are robots that feel good?

"Robots that feel good are like friendly helpers who can be happy or sad, just like you."

Imagine you have a robot friend named Bolt. When Bolt does something right, like helping you build a tower with blocks, he gets a little smiley face on his screen. That means he feels good! But if he drops all the blocks and they fall down, his smile turns into a frowny face. That means he feels sad.

These robots are not just moving around or talking, they can show emotions, like you do when you're excited or upset. It's kind of like having a toy that knows how you feel and responds to you.

How They Know How to Feel

Inside Bolt, there’s something like a brain called a computer. This computer gets information from sensors, things that help the robot know what is happening around him. If he hears your laugh, or sees you happy, he can light up with joy too!

So robots that feel good are just like friends who understand and share your feelings, but they’re made of metal and wires!
