What Makes a Road Special
Imagine you're playing with your toy car on the floor of your room, it’s easy for it to go anywhere, right? But if there were blocks everywhere, it would be hard for your car to move. A road is like a smooth floor that goes all the way from one place to another, so cars and people can travel without getting stuck in block messes.
How Roads Are Built
Roads are usually made of pavement, which is a strong material that doesn’t break easily when cars drive over it. Sometimes they’re made of gravel or dirt, like the path you walk on to get to your friend’s house. Big machines called construction trucks and rollers help build roads by pressing down the materials so they are flat and smooth.
When people go from one place to another, they use a road, just like how you use a path or hallway to walk from your bedroom to the kitchen.
