What Are Responses?
What Are Actions?
Now imagine you see a ball rolling toward you, and instead of just standing there, you run after it and kick it away. That’s an action, something you choose to do on purpose.
Sometimes, responses are quick like blinking when something bright flashes in your eyes. Other times, actions take more time, like building a tower with blocks or saying "hello" to someone new.
You use both responses and actions all day long, they're how you play, learn, and make friends! Responses or actions are what you do when something happens to you, just like how you might jump if a big dog barks at you.
Examples
- A child jumps when they hear a loud noise.
- You say 'thank you' after someone helps you.
- A dog wags its tail when it sees its owner.
