What are regular elections?

Regular elections are when people get to choose who will be in charge of important jobs, just like picking a team captain for a game.

Imagine you're on a playground with your friends, and every week you pick someone new to be the leader of your group. That’s kind of what regular elections are like, but instead of a playground, it's a whole city or country, and instead of playing games, people make big decisions about how things should run.

Just like how your team captain might not always know what to do, sometimes the person in charge needs help. So, every few years, everyone gets to vote again, this is called a regular election. It’s like getting a new team captain who knows what's going on and can help make better choices for the group.

In some places, they have regular elections every 4 years, just like how you might have a new game leader each time your class goes outside to play. That way, people stay happy and things keep running smoothly!
