What are ranges?

A range is like a special kind of list that helps you count or group things smoothly from one number to another.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks. You have a row of blocks stacked neatly, starting with block number 1 and ending at block number 10. That whole line from block 1 to block 10 is a range, it shows every single block in order without skipping any.

How Ranges Work

A range can be as simple as counting up, like 1, 2, 3, all the way to 10. You might use it when you're lining up your toys or counting steps on the stairs. Sometimes, a range counts by bigger jumps, like 2, 4, 6, 8, just like when you're skipping rope.

Why Ranges Are Useful

Ranges help us organize things that change gradually. If you’re setting the table and need 5 plates, a range from 1 to 5 helps you know exactly how many you need without counting each plate one by one. It's like having a smart helper who counts for you!
