A propeller is like a fan that helps things move through water or air.
Imagine you're on a boat, and you want to go faster. A propeller is like a big, spinning fan at the back of the boat. When it spins, it pushes the water backwards, and because of that, the boat moves forwards! It’s like when you swim and push your hands backward to move forward in the pool.
How Propellers Work
Think of a propeller as having lots of blades, like a pizza cut into slices. Each blade is shaped so that when it spins, it catches the water or air and pushes it away. The faster the blades spin, the more power they give to the boat or airplane.
If you’ve ever seen a helicopter, its big spinning fan at the top is also a kind of propeller, it helps the helicopter fly by pushing air down, which makes the helicopter go up!
So whether on water or in the sky, propellers are like helpful fans that make things move.
