Like a Sky Map
The sky is like a giant map. Some stars are close to us, like neighbors, and others are far away, like cousins who live in another town. Astronomers use special tools to figure out where each star lives on this map, it's called finding their position.
The Star's Address
If you think of the sky as a big playground, stars have addresses too! They might be in the corner near the moon or right above your head. By watching how they move from night to night, we can learn where they are and even guess how far away they are, just like knowing where your best friend lives by seeing how long it takes them to get to your house.
Stars aren’t moving on purpose; they’re just going along with the dance of space. And that helps us find their positions, so we can learn more about them!
