Piles are just groups of things that have been put together because they belong together or look alike.
Imagine you're cleaning up your toys after a big playdate. All over the floor, there are blocks, cars, balls, and stuffed animals. Instead of leaving everything messy, you decide to make piles, one for blocks, one for cars, one for balls, and so on. Each pile is like a little group that says, "We're all similar, and we’re together now!"
What Makes a Pile?
A pile doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to have things in it that go well with each other. Sometimes, you might even make a fun pile by putting all your favorite toys together, even if they don’t look alike.
You can also find piles everywhere! At the grocery store, fruits are piled up on tables. In your kitchen, you might have a pile of dirty plates waiting to be cleaned.
Piles help us organize things in our lives, and they're just as useful for kids as they are for grown-ups!
