What are physical entities?

A physical entity is something you can touch or see that exists in the real world.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy blocks. Each block, like a red cube or a blue rectangle, is a physical entity because it takes up space and you can move it around. You don’t need to use magic to know they’re there; you just pick them up, stack them, or knock them down.

What Makes Something a Physical Entity?

A physical entity has two main traits:

  1. It occupies space, like how your toy blocks take up room on the floor.
  2. You can interact with it, like pushing, pulling, or stacking them on top of each other.

Think about your lunch box. When you put your sandwich inside, it takes up space in the box. That’s a physical entity too! Even air is a physical entity, because it takes up space and you feel it when you blow out birthday candles.

So whether it's your blocks, your sandwich, or even the air around you, they're all just different kinds of physical entities in your everyday life.
