What are phishing attacks?

A phishing attack is when someone tries to trick you into giving them your secrets, like a sneaky friend trying to steal your toy.

Imagine you're at the park, and a kid comes up to you and says, "Hey, I’m lost! Can you help me find my way home?" They look really sad. You feel sorry for them and say yes. Then they ask for your phone number so they can call their mom. But that kid is actually just trying to get your phone number to trick other kids later, that’s a phishing attack!

Like a Fake Letter in Your Mailbox

Sometimes, people get letters or messages that look like they came from a real friend or a bank. These are called fake messages, and they might ask you to click on a link or give them your password. It's like getting a letter that says "Your favorite toy is broken, fix it by clicking here!" But if you click, it might take your secrets instead!

How You Can Spot the Trick

If someone asks for your password or phone number and it feels too good to be true, it probably is. Just like when your friend tells you a secret and then says, "Don’t tell anyone!", sometimes they’re just trying to keep their own secrets safe!
