People and things are friends that help us understand the world around us.
Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, maybe it's a teddy bear or a ball. That toy is a thing. A person is someone who can talk, laugh, and play with you, like your mom, dad, or best friend.
What are people?
People are living things that think, move, and feel. They can be big, like your teacher, or small, like your little brother. You can see them, hear them, and even hug them! When you draw a picture of your family on paper, those are all people, they have faces, hands, and feet just like you.
What are things?
Things are objects that don’t think or move by themselves, but they’re still super important. Your backpack is a thing, as is your favorite snack. You can pick them up, put them down, and even break them if you're not careful!
People and things work together every day, like when you use your hands (a person part) to grab your juice box (a thing) for breakfast!
