What are newspapers?

Newspapers are like big books that tell you what’s happening in the world every day.

Imagine your favorite toy is a robot, and it tells you stories about other robots from far away, that's kind of what newspapers do, but for people. Every morning, or sometimes every evening, they show up on tables, in bags, or even on phones, with lots of little pages inside. Each page has different stories: one might be about a space mission, another about a new ice cream flavor, and another about a school play.

What’s Inside

Newspapers have sections, just like your lunch box has different snacks. One section is all about the news, what happened today in the city or around the world. Another might be about sports, or puzzles to solve. Sometimes there are even drawings or comics that make you laugh.

You can read them on paper, or maybe you see them on a screen like your tablet. Either way, they help you know what’s going on, just like how your teacher tells you about the day’s plan!
