What are names or numbers?

Names and numbers are tools we use to describe things around us, just like labels on your backpack or toys.

What Are Names?

Imagine you have a red ball and a blue car. If you want to tell someone which one is yours, you might say "my name is Red Ball" or "my name is Blue Car." That's what names do, they give things a special word so we can talk about them easily.

What Are Numbers?

Now imagine you have 3 toys on the floor. You could count them: "1, 2, 3!" Those are numbers, they help us know how many of something there is. If your friend has 5 toys and you have 3, numbers can tell you who has more.

Names and numbers are like best friends, one helps you say what something is, the other tells you how many there are. Together, they help us understand and share our world! Names and numbers are tools we use to describe things around us, just like labels on your backpack or toys.
