A problem can have more than one answer, and that’s what we call multiple solutions.
Imagine you have 4 cookies, and you want to share them with your friend. One way is to give each of you 2 cookies. That’s a solution! But there are other ways too, maybe you give your friend 3 cookies and keep 1 for yourself. Or maybe you take turns eating the cookies one by one. All these different ways of sharing the cookies are different solutions to the same problem.
Why does it happen?
Sometimes, a problem isn’t just one way, like a puzzle that can be solved in many ways. You might use big blocks or small ones to build the same tower. In math, you could solve an equation by adding first or multiplying first, both work!
So, when there’s more than one answer, we say there are multiple solutions. It's like having several paths to get to the same place, each path is a different solution!
