What are mobile stations?

A mobile station is like your phone when it’s talking to a giant invisible friend called a base station.

Imagine you have a toy walkie-talkie. When you press the button and talk, someone else with a walkie-talkie can hear you, even if they’re far away. That’s how a mobile station works, but instead of a toy, it's your phone or another device that moves around, like when you're playing outside or walking to school.

Think of a base station as a big radio tower, like the one you sometimes see on top of buildings. When your phone (the mobile station) wants to send a message, like sending a text or making a call, it sends a signal to this tower, and the tower helps deliver the message.

"Mobile" means something that can move around, like you when you're running around the playground. Your phone moves with you, so it's called a mobile station, just like your toy walkie-talkie is mobile too!
