What are miners?

Miners are people who help keep blockchain working by doing important tasks.

Imagine you and your friends pass around a note in class, adding messages to it every time someone gets the note. When the note goes all around the room, you write down what happened so everyone agrees on the story. That’s kind of like what miners do, but with computers instead of paper notes.

How Miners Work

Miners use their computers to solve tricky puzzles. These puzzles are like riddles that only a computer can figure out quickly. When a miner solves one, they get to add a new page to the class note, or in real life, a new block to the chain.

Every time someone adds a block, they also get some special coins as a thank you, just like getting a sticker for doing a good job. This helps keep everyone motivated to keep solving puzzles and adding more blocks.

Miners are like the helpers who make sure the class note stays accurate and fair for everyone.
