Micro-stressors are tiny things that bother you just a little bit, like when your favorite toy is a tiny bit broken.
Imagine you're playing with your favorite building blocks. You stack them up high and proud, but then one block wobbles a little. It doesn’t fall down, but it’s not perfect anymore. That one wobbly block is a micro-stressor, it's small, but it makes you feel a tiny bit worried or upset.
Like When You're Eating Candy
Think about when you’re eating your favorite candy. It tastes great, but then you bite into it and there's a tiny piece of paper inside. It’s not the end of the world, you still love the candy, but that little paper is like a micro-stressor. It's small, but it makes you frown for just a moment.
Micro-stressors are all around us, they’re little things that bother us just enough to make our day a tiny bit less happy. But once we fix them or forget about them, everything goes back to being great!
