Messengers are people or things that carry messages from one place to another.
Imagine you’re playing a game with your friend across the room. You can’t talk to them directly, so you write a note and give it to your brother, who runs over and gives it to your friend. In this case, your brother is like a messenger, he carries the message from you to your friend.
Sometimes, messengers are not people but things like letters, emails, or even text messages. These are all kinds of messengers that help us talk to each other even when we’re far apart.
How Messengers Work
When you write a letter and put it in the mail, the postman is your messenger. He takes the letter from your house to your friend’s house. In a way, the letter itself is also a messenger, because it carries your message all by itself, no running needed!
Just like how your brother helps you send a message, messengers help us share our thoughts and ideas with others, even when we’re not together.
Examples

- A dog brings a stick back to its owner as a signal that it wants to play again.
- A letter is handed from one postman to another on a long journey.
