Messenger birds are special birds that help people send messages from one place to another, just like a letter in the mail.
Imagine you have a best friend who lives far away, maybe across town or even in another city. You want to tell them something fun, but you can’t talk on the phone or text yet. That’s where messenger birds come in! These birds are trained to carry little pieces of paper with messages written on them from one person to another.
How They Work
When someone wants to send a message, they write it down and tie it to the leg of a bird. Then, the bird flies off to deliver that message to the friend. When the friend gets the message, they read it and maybe even write a reply to send back. It’s like having a flying post office with wings!
These birds are smart and strong, just like your favorite toy airplane, but instead of flying through the sky on paper, they fly in real life!
Examples
- A soldier sends a message to his general by training a bird to fly from one camp to another.
- Messengers use birds to send secret notes during battles.
- Birds carry small scrolls between soldiers in war.
