What are longitude lines?

Imagine Earth is like a giant chocolate bar, and longitude lines are like the vertical lines that help us find our way on it.

Think about when you're playing with your toy train set. The tracks run from left to right, helping the train know where to go. Longitude lines work kind of like those train tracks, they run from the top of Earth (North Pole) all the way down to the bottom (South Pole), and they help us tell how far east or west we are.

If you look at a globe, you’ll see longitude lines running up and down like the spokes on a bicycle wheel. The most famous one is the Prime Meridian, which goes through London, it's kind of like the starting line for a race around Earth!
