What are lithium-ion batteries?

Lithium-ion batteries are like tiny energy storage containers that power your toys and gadgets.

Imagine you have a backpack that can carry energy. When you plug in your tablet or phone, it’s like filling up the backpack with little energy balls. These energy balls help your device work when it's not connected to a power source. The special part is that these energy balls can move from one side of the backpack to the other, kind of like how you move toys from one pocket to another.

How They Work

Inside a lithium-ion battery, there are two parts: one holds the energy balls, and the other helps them move. When your device is charging, the energy balls travel to the side that stores them. When your device is on, they go back, like going from your backpack to your toy.

These batteries are really good at holding a lot of energy without getting too heavy, which makes them perfect for things like phones and laptops. They’re also very reusable, you can charge and use them many times before they start to get tired.
