What are jacobins?

The Jacobins were a group of people who really loved ideas and wanted to change how their country worked, kind of like kids in a classroom who all want to be the teacher.

Imagine you're in a big school, and most of the kids are happy with how things are. But there's one group, the Jacobins, who think the rules are unfair and want everyone to have more freedom and equality. They’re like the class leaders who start a revolution during recess!

Like a Big Group of Friends

The Jacobins were friends who wanted their country, France, to be fairer for all people. They believed that everyone should have the same rights, no matter if you're rich or poor.

They were especially important during the French Revolution, when people got tired of being treated like second-class citizens.

A Playful Take on Power

Think of them as the kids who take over the game and make new rules so it's more fun for everyone. The Jacobins wanted to give more power to the common people, just like how you might want to be the one who picks the next game to play!

They were strong believers in freedom, equality, and a little bit of rebellion, which made them very popular with many people in France!
