How It Works
An ice rink starts as water. Workers use special machines to freeze it really fast, turning it into ice, kind of like when your soda can gets all icy and slippery in the freezer. Once it’s frozen solid, people wear special shoes called skates, which have little points on them that grip the ice so they can glide around easily.
What You Can Do
On an ice rink, you can skate with friends, play games like hockey or figure skating, or just zoom around having fun. It's like being on a super fast slide, but instead of going down, you move side to side and spin around like you're dancing on air!
Examples
- A child slides across the ice with ease, not noticing how it's made.
- An ice rink looks like a frozen lake but is special for skating.
- The ice makes it easy to move quickly on top.
