What are hybrid identities?

A hybrid identity is when one person can be two different people at once, like having two names for the same kid.

Imagine you have a toy box that holds all your toys. Now, imagine you had two toy boxes, one with your favorite dinosaurs and another with your favorite cars. You could play with dinosaurs in the morning and switch to cars in the afternoon. That’s kind of like having two identities at once.

Now think about going to school. In the morning, you're Sam, who loves math and plays soccer. But when you go to a different class or hang out with your friends after school, you become Sally, who loves art and draws beautiful pictures. You’re still the same kid inside, it’s just that you have two faces, or two names, for different parts of your day.

This is like having a hybrid identity, being one person in one place and another person in another place, all because of how you choose to show yourself.
