What are how fast someone thinks?

How fast someone thinks is like how quickly they can solve a puzzle or answer a question when it's given to them.

Imagine you're playing a game where someone asks you questions, and you have to say the answers as fast as you can. If you're really quick at figuring things out, you might be able to answer before your friend even finishes asking the question! That means you think faster than your friend.

Like a race

Thinking is like running a race. Some people are sprinters, they start fast and finish quickly. Others are long-distance runners, they take their time but keep going for a long way. When you're solving problems or answering questions, you're like a runner in that race. The faster you can run (or think), the quicker you can answer.

Thinking speed matters

If you think really fast, you might be able to solve many puzzles in one go, or beat your friend at a game of "What's next?" But if you take time to think, that's okay too, it just means you're working at your own speed.
