A heterogeneous agent is like having a group of friends who all do different things, some love drawing, others prefer running, and one might even enjoy building with blocks.
Imagine you’re playing a game where everyone has their own special way of helping the team win. Some kids in your class are really fast runners, so they take on the job of chasing down the ball. Others are super good at counting or solving problems, so they help keep track of scores or figure out strategies. Each one is an agent, like a player in a game, and since each has their own skills and roles, they're called heterogeneous agents.
Different Jobs, Same Team
Think about a classroom during recess:
- One friend is the fastest runner, that’s their job.
- Another friend can solve puzzles quickly, that's their role.
- Someone else might be great at organizing games, that’s how they help.
Even though they’re all working together, each has a unique way of contributing. That’s what heterogeneous agents are like in bigger situations, they all have different roles but work as one team!
Examples
- A team of robots with varied skills working together on a task, such as building a house.
