What are heat transfer principles?

Heat transfer is how warmth moves from one place to another, just like when you pass your favorite snack to a friend at the table.

When something is hot, like a cup of cocoa on a chilly day, it sends out heat, and that heat can travel in different ways:

• Conduction happens when heat moves through touching things. Like when you hold a spoon in hot soup, soon your hand feels warm too!
• Convection is like a warm wind inside a room. Heat rises from the heater, warms the air above it, and then that warm air goes around the room.
• Radiation is how the sun warms your face on a sunny day, no need to touch anything!

Understanding heat transfer helps us stay comfortable. That’s why we wear sweaters in cold weather and use fans in hot rooms. It's all about how warmth moves, and knowing that makes life cozier, just like having extra marshmallows in your cocoa!
