What are hands?

Hands are tools we use every day to touch, grab, and move things around.

Imagine you have a special kind of arm helper that can do cool stuff like pick up toys, draw pictures, or even clap with friends. That’s what hands are, they're attached to your arms and help you make all kinds of movements.

Hands are made of fingers, palm, and a little bit of wrist. Think about when you hold a juice box, your fingers wrap around it, and your palm keeps it from slipping away. Your wrist lets you twist and turn the juice box so you can drink from it easily.

Your hands are like super helpers that help you do things like:

• Grabbing your favorite snack
• Drawing pictures in coloring books
• Playing with blocks or toys
• Clapping to show you're happy

They’re always working, even when you don’t notice, just like how your feet are always moving, even when you’re sitting still.
