What are gas molecules?

Gas molecules are tiny, moving pieces that make up things like air and bubbles, just like how building blocks can be used to build a tower or a car.

Imagine you're playing with tiny marbles in a big, empty box. These marbles aren’t stuck together; they’re bouncing around freely, hitting the sides of the box and each other. That’s kind of what gas molecules do, they’re tiny things that move fast and never stop, just like your marbles.

Like Bubbles in Soda

Think about a bottle of soda. When you open it, little bubbles pop up, those are gas molecules escaping! The bubbles float up because the gas molecules inside them are lighter than the liquid around them. It's like when you jump on a trampoline; you bounce up because you're light and springy.

They’re Everywhere

You can’t see them, but they’re all around you, in your breath, in the air outside, even in the bubbles from your favorite bubble wand! Gas molecules are just like invisible, tiny dancers that never stop moving.
