What are fixed points?

A fixed point is like a special spot that doesn’t move when something else moves around it.

Imagine you're playing with a toy train on a track. The train goes vrrrrr and zooms around the track, but there’s one little red dot on the track that stays right where it is, no matter how fast the train goes or which direction it turns. That little red dot is a fixed point because it doesn’t move even when everything else moves.

Like a Favorite Spot in the Playground

Think of your favorite spot in the playground, maybe it's where you always sit to eat your snack. Even though other kids run around and play games, your special seat stays right there. That’s like a fixed point too! It doesn’t change, even when everything else changes.

Sometimes, things move in patterns, but if there’s something that just stays, like your favorite spot or that red dot on the track, you can always find it again. And that makes everything easier to understand.
