What are five coherent waves?

Five coherent waves are like five friends who all march in step, they’re moving together and staying in sync.

Imagine you're at a parade, and you see five drummers. Each one hits their drum at the same time, and they keep doing it over and over again, perfectly matched. That's what coherent waves do, they move together with the same rhythm and timing.

Like Water Waves in a Pond

Think of a pond that’s been gently stirred by five people all throwing pebbles in at once. Each ripple moves outward from where the pebble hit the water. If all the ripples are moving in the same way, like they're part of one big dance, you can see how coherent waves work, they’re all lined up and stay that way as they travel.

Or Like Light Waves

If we go even smaller, imagine light, it's made of tiny waves, too. Five coherent waves could be five beams of light coming from the same source, like a laser. They all move together and don’t get mixed up or confused, just like your friends who march in step at the parade.
