A false accusation is when someone says you did something wrong, but it’s not true.
Imagine you’re playing with your best friend in the sandbox. You're both digging and having fun. Suddenly, your friend runs to the teacher and says, “Elipedia dug a big hole and hid my toy!” But you didn’t hide the toy, you were just digging! That’s a false accusation.

Why False Accusations Happen
People might make false accusations when they’re scared, or if they think it will help them. It’s like when you're playing tag and someone yells that you were the one who started running, even though you were just standing there!
Sometimes people get confused or upset, so they say things that aren’t true. But remember, not everyone who accuses you is telling the whole story!
Examples
- A kid accuses their friend of stealing their lunch, even though they did it themselves.
- Someone says their coworker cheated on them, just to get back at them.
- A person claims their neighbor broke into their house, but it was actually a cat.
