What are fair chances?

Fair chances are when everyone has the same chance to win or get something good.

Imagine you and your friend are playing a game where you both pick a ball from a bag, one is red, one is blue. If it’s fair, neither of you knows which ball will come out first, so both have an equal chance to win.

Like Sharing Cookies

Think about sharing cookies with your brother. If there are 4 cookies and 2 people, each person should get 2 cookies, that's fair. But if one person gets 3 and the other only 1, that’s not fair.

Fair chances work the same way, when everyone has an equal chance, it feels just and right.

When Things Are Not Fair

Sometimes, like when you play a game and someone gets to go first every time, they have more of a chance to win. That’s not fair because they start with an advantage.

So fair chances are about giving everyone the same chance, so no one feels left out or cheated, it’s just like sharing cookies equally!
