What are facts?

Facts are things we know for sure because we can see or check them.

Imagine you have a red ball and a blue block. If you count them, you find out there are 3 toys in total, that's a fact! It doesn’t change unless you add or take away something.

What Makes Something a Fact?

A fact is like a promise from the world around us. When you touch something hot and it burns your hand, that’s a fact, you can feel it and know for sure.

If you guess that your friend has 5 candies but they really have 6, your guess wasn’t a fact yet. But when you count them together and see it's 6 candies, now that becomes a fact!

Facts Can Change

Sometimes facts change if we get new information. If you thought the sky was blue, but then saw it turn orange at sunset, that’s a new fact! The sky can be different colors depending on the time of day.

Facts help us know what's true in our everyday lives, like knowing how many toys we have or why our hands feel hot. They're simple and real, no magic needed!
