What are eyewitness accounts?

An eyewitness account is when someone tells what they saw happen, just like telling a friend about your favorite toy.

Imagine you're playing in the park, and you see a big balloon pop right next to you. Later, you tell your mom all about it, how the balloon was red, how it made a whoosh sound, and how it made everyone laugh. That’s an eyewitness account! You were there, and you’re sharing what you saw.

Like a Story from Your Day

Think of it like telling a story from your day. If you see something cool happen, like a dog chasing a cat, and then you tell someone about it later, that's an eyewitness account too. It’s just like when you describe your lunch to your friend or tell them about the best game you played.

Sometimes people use eyewitness accounts to help others understand what happened, like in a movie or on TV. They’re like little stories from real life!
