Emotional states are like the different feelings you get when you play your favorite games or eat your favorite snack.
Imagine you have a bag of colorful marbles. Each marble is a feeling, happy, sad, angry, calm, excited, or sleepy. When you pick one out and look at it, that’s what you feel inside. It's like having a special color show in your head!
How emotions work
Think about when you’re playing with your friend and you win a race. You might feel happy, like the marble that sparkles the most. But if you trip and fall, you might feel sad or even angry, like the marbles that are darker and heavier.
When emotions change
Sometimes you can have more than one feeling at once! Maybe you're excited to go to the park but also a little tired from playing all day, it's like holding two marbles in your hand, both important and fun.
