What are emigrants?

An emigrant is someone who leaves their home to live somewhere else.

Imagine your house is your favorite toy box, it's where you keep all your treasures and best friends. Now imagine one day you decide to take your toys, your snacks, and maybe even your pet, and go play in a new toy box across town. That’s what an emigrant does, they pack up their stuff and move somewhere new.

Sometimes, people leave because they want a better life, like moving from a small village to a big city where there are more playgrounds and ice cream shops. Other times, they have to leave because something changed at home, maybe there wasn’t enough food or the weather got too cold.
