What are emergent outcomes?

Emergent outcomes are when simple things come together and make something bigger and more interesting than you might expect.

Imagine you have a bunch of tiny blocks, like the ones you stack to build towers. Each block is just one little piece, not very special on its own. But if you put them all together in just the right way, they can become a castle, or a bridge, or even a whole city! That big, cool structure isn’t magic, it’s just the result of those small blocks working together.

Like a Group of Friends

Think about playing with your friends. Each one is just a kid, but when you all play together, you can create something amazing, like a big game, or a shared drawing, or even a whole imaginary world! That's an emergent outcome too, it’s not just one person doing something, it's the group making something bigger than any single person could do alone.

So emergent outcomes happen when simple parts join together and create something more fun and interesting than you might have thought.
