What are egyptians?

Egyptians are people who lived long ago in a country called Egypt, near the top of Africa.

What did they look like?

Imagine you're playing with clay, that's what Egyptians used to make their houses and tombs. They made big, strong buildings out of mud bricks, just like how you stack blocks to build a tower. Their pharaohs, who were like super-kings, lived in big palaces and wore shiny crowns.

What did they do?

They farmed along the Nile River, which is like having a long, wide river right outside your house that helps you grow food all year round. They also built amazing pyramids, huge triangle-shaped buildings, to keep their kings safe after they died. It’s kind of like building a special house for your favorite toy so it can rest forever.

Sometimes, Egyptians wrote on paper made from papyrus, which is like using a soft, flat plant to draw or write messages, just like you use paper to write notes to your friends.
