What are diverges?

A diverge is when two things go off in different directions, like a path splitting into two.

Imagine you and your friend are walking on a single path together. Then, the path splits, one way goes to the park, and the other goes to the ice cream shop. You both choose different paths. That’s a diverge, you started at the same place but went off in separate directions.

Think of a road that splits into two roads: one going left and one going right. If you take one road, and your friend takes the other, you’re both starting from the same point, but you're diverging, moving away from each other.

Another way to think about it is like a tree growing. The trunk starts as one big piece, but then it splits into two branches. Those two branches are diverging, they started together but are now going in different directions.

So, whenever something splits or separates into two parts that go their own ways, you have a diverge!
